On Nov 29, 2024, a delegation led by Wang Zhen, Secretary-General of the Pudong New Area Quality & Technology Association, and Li Jun, Director of the Comprehensive Management Department, visited Shanghai Shenmao Magnet Wire Co.,Ltd. (hereinafter "Shenmao") for research and guidance. Zhang Jun, Shenmao’s Quality Director, received the visitors, and both sides had in-depth exchanges on enterprise quality system building, brand development, and policy alignment.

Via PPT, Director Zhang detailed Shenmao’s development history, product range, quality management system certifications, and honors. He emphasized that since its founding in 1985, Shenmao has prioritized quality as its core competitiveness and focused on the magnet wire sector. Its "Gexiang Brand" magnet wires, known for reliable performance and high quality, are widely used in key fields like large hydropower (wind power) equipment, high-speed trains, and high-voltage motors, maintaining a leading market share. The company has also won awards including "Shanghai Industrial Excellent Enterprise," "Shanghai Advanced Collective in Standardization," and "Shanghai Civilized Unit" for its outstanding quality control and standardization efforts.

Secretary-General Wang Zhen praised Shenmao for growing from scratch to an industry benchmark over 30+ years. Aligning with national policies and industry trends, he offered targeted suggestions: establish a Chief Quality Officer (CQO) role and strengthen safety management; leverage the brand’s good market reputation to apply for "Shanghai Brand" certification and government quality awards to enhance influence; use its "Shanghai Advanced Collective in Standardization" status to participate in drafting/revising national, industry, and enterprise standards; and advance Measurement Management System certification and prepare for a CNAS-accredited laboratory based on product types and customer needs. He also noted that per the Pudong New Area Special Funds Management Measures for Quality Development, successful applications for the above certifications, awards, and laboratory setup qualify for government funding support.

Both sides further discussed market expansion, metrology/testing capability improvement, tech innovation, and talent needs. Shenmao thanked the association for the policy insights, stating it would soon organize a team to review market supervision documents and Pudong’s quality support policies, and actively pursue eligible applications.

Secretary-General Wang Zhen stressed that promoting enterprise high-quality development is the association’s core duty, and it will continue to provide policy interpretation and resource connection services for Shenmao. This exchange clarified directions for Shenmao’s quality system upgrading and brand building. The company will take this opportunity to implement the suggestions, leverage policy and association support, and further improve quality management to achieve higher-quality development.
